The Basque Market has the largest Spanish wine selection in the Northwest. Come on in for a bottle to take home or enjoy a glass with your meal. Here are some of our staff favorites:
Reds:
- 2007 Juan Gil Monastrell: From the Jumilla region of Spain, this oak-aged wine has deep flavors of ripe fruits such as blueberries and black cherries. Pairs well with pork dishes.
- 2005 Ramon Bilbao Crianza Rioja, 100% Tempranillo. With aromas of wild blackberries and red currants, and a spicy finish, it pairs well with red meats.
- 2004 Heredad Ugarte Reserva Rioja. This rich, oaky wine from the Rioja region is the perfect compliment to lamb and steak dishes.
White:
- 2008 Ochoa Viura/ Chardonnay. From the Navarra region of the Basque Country, this light, refreshing, un-oaked dry white is 70% Viura and 30% Chardonnay. Enjoy it with chicken and pasta dishes.
We also have a delicious house-made White Sangria! Made with white wine, fresh fruit, and peach puree, it is perfect on a hot summer’s day.
