The Boise family that lives here wanted a new, updated look for their kitchen, but the existing cabinets and hardwood flooring were in great shape. They added new hardware and door fronts to the cabinets, allowing them to change from a whitewashed oak to a bright white.
Before: Hanging soffit and cabinets cut off the view to the exterior and the water. By removing both, the room feels more airy and draws you into the kitchen area.
After: Notice that the black accent trim pieces at the top of the cabinetry, the dark sink, dark bar stool bases and dark cords of the pendant lights all bring balance and harmony. The white solid surface counter morphed into a larger profile granite, dramatically enhancing the island. The same cook top and island cabinetry are now dressed up with bead board, furniture legs, and an accent paint color.
